Hello...And welcome! My Sourdough journey started with my own health and curiosity. After a long time of consuming gluten free options for relief of inflammation I was blessed by being introduced to true Sourdough Bread. I learned about the fermentation process, and how the grains are broken down to help us digest them easier. It is not a gluten free option, however its is gluten light and more tolerable for people who have gluten sensitivity. I also learned about organic flours in comparison to modern wheats, and Ancient grains.
So the journey began and continues!
My love language for food started at a very young age making mud pies and pretending to feed people. Again in 8th grade as Class President I worked hard, and succeeded to get the very first salad bar option for our small town middle school cafeteria.
Baking was never my passion, and generally I would avoid it. Instead I focused on savory dishes that included no recipe, and measuring with love. Sourdough baking has definitely become a whole new level of learning for me. However...Sharing this healthy option, and teaching others how to make their own sourdough makes me happy on so many levels and feels like home to me.
Thank you to those who are mindfully purchasing this healthier option for yourselves and your families and for all of your love and support.
I deeply believe that the thoughts and energy put into any food can transform the way it tastes and how it feels in your body.
Bread making connects us with others. It links us with our ancestors and with people all over the globe. It directly connects us to the people we share our bread with and can be an expression of nurture and love.
True Sourdough has only 3 ingredients.
Flour, Water, Wild Yeast, and Salt.
Sourdough has enhanced my curiosity about
how many unnecessary ingredients are added
to our foods. I encourage shopping local and
allowing more whole foods to resinate within our lives.
So I embrace the practice of patience, happy to wait hours and sometimes days, before I know my sourdough is ready for the next stage. I leave behind the worry, what I can not fix or change, and immerse myself with the process, and be humbled with the simple pleasure of time spent baking bread brings.
