Focaccia Artis Chea LaTourette. As a child, Chea explored her surroundings with a deep curiosity for nature's colors and textures. Each piece of Focaccia Art is a tribute to the wonders she discovered in her youth, a reminder that the world is filled with beauty waiting to be observed and celebrated.
Through her culinary creations, Chea uses sourdough focaccia as a canvas to craft vibrant, wildflower-inspired designs, transforming simple bread into edible art. With attention to detail, she carefully selects herbs and vegetables, ensuring that each design not only captivates the eye but also delights the palate.
Focaccia Art workshops
As we dive into the hands-on portion, I encourage everyone to experiment with colors and textures. Some choose to create serene gardens with sprigs of rosemary and cherry tomatoes, while others go bold with bright bell peppers and olives, crafting whimsical scenes that reflect their unique styles. I love offering guidance, but I also emphasize the importance of personal expression—there are no rules when it comes to Focaccia art!
Once the focaccia is golden brown and perfectly baked, we gather around to admire each other's work. The vibrant colors of the toppings become even more pronounced, and the textures contrast beautifully. It’s a moment of pride as we share stories about our artistic choices and what inspired our designs.
Focaccia art is more than just baking—it's about embracing creativity, fostering community, and savoring the delicious results of our imaginations. I can’t wait to see what you all create in our next workshop!
